When to use Zone Editor
If the domain’s nameservers are the ones in your welcome email, DNS is edited in cPanel → Zone Editor. If you use Cloudflare or another DNS host, change records there instead.
Typical records
- A — apex domain to the hosting IP.
- CNAME — www (or other hostnames) to the apex or a target the vendor specifies. Do not CNAME the apex unless you know the provider supports it.
- MX — mail routing. Leave our defaults if you use cPanel email.
- TXT — SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and domain-control checks.
TTL is often 14400 seconds (4 hours). Lower it before a planned cutover. Worldwide caches can still take 24–48 hours.
