What is Packet loss?
The percentage of data packets that never arrive — the classic cause of stuttering calls and slow pages.
Packet loss is the share of data packets that are dropped between you and a server. Even 2–3% loss makes web pages crawl, video calls freeze and downloads stall, because protocols keep retransmitting the missing pieces. Loss is usually caused by congestion or a bad link somewhere along the route, not by your hosting itself. A good speed test reports loss alongside latency so you can tell 'my ISP' from 'my host'.
